Q2:How can one apply to adopt and maintain non-public-use national cultural heritages?

A2:

  1. Applicants should submit an adoption plan to apply for adoption to the NPA branch or office where the target cultural heritage is located. The plan should specify the overall planning of adoption, the concept of management and maintenance or environment beautification, use planning, and the duration of adoption. After the joint review and approval of the NPA branch or office and the competent authority of the cultural heritage of the adoption plan, both parties will sign an adoption contract for a maximum term of six years each time. The adopter is free to use the cultural heritage. However, it should pay the fee for utilities, management, and maintenance and should not engage in any business act during the adoption. However, with the prior consent of the NPA branch or office, the adopter may organize public interest activities on a non-profit and non-commercial purpose. Apart from abiding by the contract, the adopter should observe laws and regulations in relation to cultural heritage preservation.
  2. Please visit the NPA website and find the address, phone number, and jurisdiction of individual NPA branches and offices from “About NPA”→ “History” → “Organization Chart” → “NPA HQ” → “List of Jurisdiction, Address, and Phone Number of NPA Branches and Offices”.
