The Act on Recusal of Public Servants Due to Conflicts of Interest—Cases for education (2018-04-09)

The Agency Against Corruption, Ministry of Justice has compiled cases regarding the Act on Recusal of Public Servants Due to Conflicts of Interest in recent years. Cases include: “A supervisor of an agency approved the renewal of the contract when his/her spouse’s contract is going to expire;” “A supervisor of an agency reviewed the application for promotion of his/her relative in the second degree in the same agency and participated in the promotion review committee;” “A supervisor of an agency participated in the interview, in which his/her relatives in the second degree attended, for a substitute staff and the supervisor interviewed him/her in person and decided to recruit his/her relatives in the second degree;” “A supervisor of an agency reviewed the performance rating of his/her spouse working as a messenger in the same agency for three consecutive years;” “A supervisor of an agency changed the performance rating of his/her spouse decided by the Appraisal Committee from B to A;” “A supervisor of an agency changed the construction area of a construction procurement case to the location of the homestay operated by his mother-in-law;” and other cases. Please observe these situations and refrain from violating the law.
