Q3: Is there any area limit for the national farmland for lease?

A3:

I. The area of national arable land leased by the lessee shall not exceed a total of five hectares per household in the leased area, but up to an additional 0.5 hectare is allowable depending on the tillage pattern.

II. Before the promulgation of the Rules Governing National Arable Land Lease Implementation, if the area of original leased area has exceeded the area limit stated in the previous paragraph, the area is not restricted by the previous provision, but the leased area shall not be increased.

III. The area limit for slopeland shall be handled according to Article 20 of the Slopeland Conservation and Utilization Act.
