Custody of inheritance without claimed successors

When the existence of successors is unknown, or successors of all priorities make a waiver of succession, or the predecessor is deceased without decedents, or all successors are citizens of mainland China, and a court of law decides that the NPA or its agencies is or are the inheritance administrator by the Civil Code or the Act Governing Relations between the People of the Taiwan Area and the Mainland Area, the NPA agency located within the jurisdiction of the court making such a decision will take over the administration of inheritance without successors according to the Civil Code, the Act Governing Relations between the People of the Taiwan Area and the Mainland Area, the “Directions for Custody of Inheritance Without Claimed Successors”, the “Directions for Management of Inheritance of Predecessors in Taiwan Succeeded by Citizens of the Mainland Area”, and relevant regulations.
